If you’re part of the local IT sandbox and even mildly flirt with posting on business networks, you know who Dragan Petric is. Well, this week the undisputed ruler of the Croatian LinkedIn ether held his long-awaited masterclass, where he showed a packed room of information-hungry attendees how to ride LN algorithms more successfully in the coming year.

Some things have changed; others haven’t. For security reasons, we won’t go into the details of his analysis – the sensei will share what he wants, when and to what extent -but what we can say is that the guidelines he gave the audience are worth paying attention to.

The second reason we’re celebrating—because good data and knowing what to do with it always come first – is that TIS’s approach to networks has officially been named one of the best IT practices in Croatia for “LinkedIn-ing.” In a ring where unicorns rule and Goliath usually swallows David whole, authentic propaganda still, fortunately, has a place.

Now. How we caught his eye is perhaps even more interesting.

TIS is one of the oldest Croatian IT companies. We remember the Croatian Silicon Valley back when it was still thriving in Dugave. We built the infrastructure that carries the entire domestic payment traffic. We contributed to a range of products used daily by millions of people. We introduced the euro in two countries. We implemented instant payments for the largest domestic banks and, most recently, some in neighbouring markets. Financial institutions across the region recognize us as the go-to partner for digital identity. We’ve just wrapped up a massive project for Generali Investments. NDAs usually prevent us from bragging about the work we do for governments (yes, more than one), but you’ll have to take our word for it that we’ve been a reliable partner to several international public institutions for a long time.

Things are picking up speed. We’ve been playing with AI technologies since the late ’90s. We’ve been developing toys in (proto)cloud just as long. We invest continuously in research and don’t blindly chase trends. We know every boomerang eventually comes back.

SENDD is one of them. Our AI for detecting neurodevelopmental deviations in infants—developed with our partners at Poliklinika Sabol (the service is available in their offering) – caught Petric’s attention before it became commercially available. Before it swept the top innovation awards. Nearly three years later, it’s still the post that generated the highest traffic.

Last night’s event marked the culmination of the collaboration between TIS Grupa and Poliklinika Sabol. At this year’s VIDI AWARDS, SENDD was crowned the most innovative technological solution!

We proudly share the E-novation award with all the colleagues who have contributed to this project over the past five years. Without your efforts, this Oscar-style acceptance speech would not have been possible!

Our excitement is even greater knowing this recognition joins the ranks of previous recipients like Rimac, Photomath, and Nanobit.

The competition was fierce. Over 40 reputable innovators participated in the E-novation category, and after a rigorous selection process, 9 of the best projects made it to the final round. This victory is all the sweeter, as it comes from the oldest and most objective competition of its kind for Croatia’s high-tech sandbox.

Alongside SENDD, the projects LYNX H2 500 and Emhance were also awarded, earning recognition with the prestigious Tesla’s Golden Egg. We take this opportunity to congratulate all fellow competitors. The fact that an impartial jury, including experts from the Ruđer Bošković Institute, recognized the necessary potential in these projects is a significant achievement. History has shown that selection into this prestigious circle often signals a bright future for the laureates.

Congratulations are also due to the organizer. For the 18th year in a row, VIDI has successfully highlighted the most important innovations in the domestic IT sphere.

This prestigious award, of course, wouldn’t have been possible without the outstanding collaboration with the medical staff of Poliklinika Sabol. SENDD is, at its core, a synergistic fusion of medicine and technology, where both partners contributed equally, seamlessly uniting their areas of expertise. From the TIS side, Tomislav Strgar tirelessly led the charge, while on the medical front, Dr. Goran Krakar employed the same strategy.

Here is a joint statement:

• This award motivates us to continue expanding SENDD’s use in Croatia, the region, and globally. The solution enables parents to record video materials in the comfort of their homes, reducing the need for multiple visits to healthcare facilities, travel expenses, and thus, the ecological footprint.
• Early problem detection facilitates faster implementation of therapies and interventions, improving the child’s quality of life and reducing long-term healthcare costs. SENDD ensures access to this technology regardless of geographical or economic barriers, thereby promoting inclusivity and social justice.
• We are delighted that Futura Medical Group, which includes Poliklinika Sabol, shares our belief that SENDD represents the future of pediatrics. Without the trust of their leadership, SENDD would not be a commercially available service today. We hope that in the future, the public healthcare system will also recognize SENDD’s potential and incorporate it into its standard service package. Because children deserve it!

Rolling up our sleeves after weeks of close collaboration with colleagues from Polyclinic Sabol, we orchestrated our debut on Monday at ZICER.

Let’s be honest. Any event targeting a highly specialized audience comes with justified fears: Will people show up? How much will we embarrass ourselves? IT conferences are notoriously prone to technical issues. What if a stray comet reads its horoscope and, influenced by Mercury in retrograde, crashes into our small blue planet on that very day?

None of that happened. Instead, we witnessed a textbook example of a well-organized, well-received event with an incredible turnout.

An innovation shaping the future of pediatrics attracted precisely the people we hoped for: pediatricians, neuro-pediatricians, neonatologists, pediatric physiatrists, pediatric physiotherapists, visiting nurses, and other related professionals involved in neonatal neurological care. Over 60 attendees!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the trip to the Zagreb Fairgrounds on Monday for SENDD. From the safety of the venue, we watched people climb over walls just to hear the latest insights at the intersection of AI and pediatrics.

Dr. Krakar took the stage first, thoroughly presenting SENDD and its significance from a neuro-pediatrics perspective. The baton then passed to our very own Strgar, who didn’t disappoint. In fact, he unveiled exclusive details even our most loyal followers hadn’t heard before. Years of evangelizing about SENDD gave both speakers the confidence to masterfully deliver content while maintaining the audience’s attention. They even managed to avoid crossing into cringe territory with their anecdotes and jokes. Hats off, gentlemen—you nailed it!

The central part of the event was orchestrated by Josip Kustić, who navigated the panel discussion with skill. As moderator, he insightfully opened doors and closed windows, encouraging our esteemed guests to share the most practical aspects of their expertise with the audience. Given that no one picked their nose, only two people sneakily checked their phones, and the security guard only glanced at his watch near closing time, we’re confident Josip will excel in future field tasks as well.
